What is reality? And whose reality is it? Having been a mathematician for two decades before I turned to photography, I am sharply tuned to morphing real life problems to abstract concepts. To this end, I explore the answers to these existentialist questions via a mathematical tool which morphs images into aesthetically inviting abstract concepts, acting as portals. I start with photos of mundane artifacts of everyday’s life; a wall, a fence, a sidewalk, and map them onto otherworldly realms. I fine tune the tool’s parameters until the resulting image speaks to me.
