“Lost Color of God and Man” is an evolving slideshow of three-color separations depicting the locations where musicians and amateur inventors Leopold Godowsky and Leopold Mannes had conceptualized the color systems that would become Kodachrome. How did these two individuals see color before they created a means to replicate it, and how did they imagine their new tools would record it? These images are a reinterpretation of the individual colors of light the inventors might have experienced with their own eyes.
