This continuous body of work, portraying different couples in various ages, places and stages, stretches nearly over a decade. The series, born out of personal pain and curiosity, does not claim to reveal any noble truth about its subjects. On the contrary, it is a passing moment of the photographed couple. A random encounter leading to a photograph, an image, and nothing more. The more I delved into the photographic act the more I realized that every couple is an island and that relationships have their own rules. Every couple embodies a promise and every relationship is comprised of many promises being exchanged between the couple. Some are kept, some are broken, all outside the frame. This is the power of photography as well as its weakness.
